The File menu in the Report Writer lets you access many options, including creating, opening, previewing, saving, importing, and exporting reports.
This option lets you create a blank matrix containing 10 columns and 50 rows.
You can also use the New Report speed button for this purpose.
If you want to expand the size of the new report, then right-click and insert more columns or rows. You can also open the Insert menu to select an option.
This option lets you access stored reports in the database.
You can also use the Open Report speed button for this purpose.
Since you can only open one report at a time, the application asks if you want to save changes to the report that you are viewing when you attempt to open another report.
This option lets you save report definitions to the database.
You can also use the Save Report speed button for this purpose.
When you have already saved the current report, there are no prompts when selecting this option. The report saves with the same name.
This option lets you see how the report looks on a printed page based on the current Page Setup options.
You can also use the Preview Report speed button for this purpose.
This option closes the Report Writer tool.
If you have modified the report, then a Confirm dialog box appears asking if you want to save the changes before closing the tool.
