  • Create the review structure.
  • Set up email notifications for review status changes.
  • Create a budget What If model.
  • Set up fixed asset accounts.

Provide the following tasks to end users before they start forecasting.

  1. Create a baseline forecast.
It is helpful for your end users to have a current forecast in the organization before giving them access to their forecast. You are providing them with a baseline forecast to help them get started. Use one of the following forecasting tools to make this process easier for each organization.
    • Advanced Quick Forecast

Navigate to Forecasting > Advanced Quick Forecast to find this forecasting tool.

    • Basic Quick Forecast

From within various Forecasting pages, you can select the Project option, which shows the Project window. Choose Setup to enter and apply summary-level forecast assumptions for accounts using the Project Action, Value, and Time Frame columns. Select Apply to complete the forecast.

  2. Turn on Edit access in the forecast What If model when you are ready to have end users start forecasting.
    1. Navigate to Setup > What If Models.
    2. Select the What If model that you created for the budget process.
    3. Find the User Access section and make changes as needed to the user roles or individual users to provide Edit access to the What If model.
    4. Select Save to complete the process.
  3. Provide new users with sign-in instructions.
The administrator or person with Manage Users rights provides new users with their username and password from the Add User page. Then, new users follow these steps:
    1. Access the FPS site at https://prod.profitstarsfps.com.
    2. Begin the sign-in process using the provided credentials.
    3. Select and confirm a new password to replace the provided generic password.
Passwords must be at least eight characters long and incorporate at least three of the following components: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, or symbols. Passwords cannot contain spaces or be the same as the username.
    4. Start the forecasting process.
