Finishing the Budgeting Process

Administrators can lock in and assign the budget what-if model to finish the budgeting process on the What If Models setup page.

Complete the forecast process and approve the budget before finishing the budgeting process.
  1. Lock in your budget what-if model.
    1. Select Setup > What If Models from the menu.
    2. Select your forecasted budget What If model.
    3. Change the User Access from Edit to View in the All field.
This change ensures that users make no additional changes to the budget model's forecast.
    4. Select Save to complete the process.
  2. Assign your budget what-if model.
Only perform these steps when the application's last processed month is the first month of the fiscal year, for example, January. Assigning the finalized budget what-if model too early or too late impacts budgeted data that the home page and the Variance reports.
    1. Select Setup > What If Models from the menu.
    2. Select your forecasted budget What If model.
    3. Change the Model Type from What If to Current Budget.
An Assign Model confirmation message appears.
    4. Select OK to confirm the change.
    5. Select Save to complete the process.
The application's home page shows the newly assigned current budget what-if model. The Variance reports use it for budget information.
