Working with What If Models

Use this information to modify certain aspects of existing What If models if your institution has the Forecasting module and your user role gives you edit rights.

Only one user at a time is allowed to modify What If models. Any subsequent users accessing this setup page are placed in view-only mode.
  1. Navigate to Setup > What If Models.
  2. Select a situation and follow the corresponding steps.
    Situation Steps
    Modify Models
    1. Select the model that you want to modify from the list.
    2. Change the following fields as needed:
      • Name
      • Model Type
      • Starting Month Method
      • Consolidated Organization Method
      • User Access
      • Notes
    3. Select Save.
    Tip: For the Primary model, you cannot change the Starting Month Method.
    Move Models
    1. Select the model that you want to move from the list.
    2. Use the "" Move icon to move the model where you want it in the list.

    The order of the models in the What If Models list controls how the models appear in the application.

    Delete Models
    1. Select the model that you want to delete from the list.
    2. Select "" Delete.
    3. Select Delete to confirm the deletion.

    While you can delete any model, if you try to delete the Primary or Current Budget models, you must assign the Model Type to a different model. When only one model remains, the "" Delete icon is hidden.

    Import Budget Data
    1. Select the model that you want to import data for from the list.

      The model must have a Calculation Type of No Calculation.

    2. Select Import.
    3. Select Data Includes Header if the .csv file you are importing includes headers.
    4. Select the Select CSV option to browse to and select the import file.
    5. Select an option for Account Link.
    6. Select an option for Data.
    7. Select Start to begin the import.
    Manage Protected Subledgers
    Note: This functionality is only available for clients with a Distributed Forecasting license.
    1. Select a model that you want to manage protected subledgers for from the list.

      The model must have Allow Subledgers selected and have protected subledgers.

    2. Select Manage Protected Subledgers.
    3. Select a subledger to reassign.
    4. Select a user role or individual user.
    5. Select Reassign.

    You can also delete subledgers from this page.
