Working with Ratios

Use this information to view, copy, modify, and move ratios. You can also delete custom ratios.

Only one user at a time is allowed to work with ratios. Any subsequent users accessing this setup page are placed in view-only mode.
  1. Navigate to Setup > Ratios.
  2. Select a situation and follow the corresponding steps.
    Situation Steps
    View a Ratio
    1. Select Expand All to see the individual ratios that belong to the selected category.
    2. Select a ratio in the list to view the formula used to calculate it.
    Copy a Ratio
    1. Select the ratio that you want to copy from the list.
    2. Select Copy. to duplicate the ratio's formula into a new ratio.

    The new ratio is added to the list immediately below the source ratio. For example, to modify the Capital to Asset ratio's formula to use average balances instead of month-end balances, create a copy of the predefined ratio, and then change the new custom ratio's formula.
    Modify a Predefined Ratio
    1. Select the predefined ratio that you want to modify from the list.
    2. Change the following fields as needed:
      • Decimal Places
      • Policy Limits
    Modify a Custom Ratio
    1. Select the custom ratio that you want to modify from the list.
    2. Change the following fields as needed:
      • Ratio Name
      • Belongs To
      • Decimal Places
      • Policy Limits
      • Formula
      • Category
    Move a Ratio
    1. Select the ratio that you want to move from the list.
    2. Use the Up and down arrows. to move the ratio where you want it in the list.

    The order of the ratios in the lists controls how the ratios appear when they are selected in the rest of the application.
    Delete a Ratio
    1. Select the custom ratio that you want to delete from the list.
    2. Select Delete..
    3. Select Delete on the confirmation dialog box.

    If the custom ratio that you are trying to delete is used somewhere else in the application, then a message informs you that the ratio cannot be deleted until references to it are removed.

    You cannot delete predefined ratios.
  3. Select Save.
